Patrick Byrne (Irish politician)

Patrick Byrne (Irish Pádraig Ó Broin, born April 2, 1925) is an Irish politician and sat from 1956 to 1969 in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

Patrick Byrne was born in 1925, the son of Irish politician Alfred Byrne and his wife Elizabeth. In 1956, Byrne was elected as an independent candidate in by-elections on 30 April in the 15th Dáil Éireann, and thus occupied the vacant seat of his father's new. A year later he joined the Fine Gael and was re-elected for his new party in the 16th Dáil Éireann. There followed two successful re- elections in 1961 and 1965. During the elections in 1969 to the 19th Dáil Byrne did not run.

Byrne had seven siblings. His two brothers, Alfred and Thomas were also deputies in Dáil Éireann.
