Alfred P. Byrne

Alfred Patrick Byrne (Irish Pádraig Ó Broin Ailfrid, † July 26, 1952 ) was an Irish politician and sat from 1937 to 1944 and again from 1948 until his death in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

Alfred P. Byrne was born as the son of Irish politician Alfred Byrne and his wife Elizabeth. In 1937, Byrne was elected as an independent candidate in the 9th Dáil Éireann. After two successful elections in 1938 and 1943, he lost his seat in 1944 for election to the 12th Dáil Éireann. Four years later, however, Byrne succeeded in re- entry into the House of Commons, to which he now belonged to his death.

Byrne had seven siblings. His two brothers Patrick and Thomas were also deputies in Dáil Éireann.
