Patrick Dunn (bishop)

Patrick James Dunn ( born February 5, 1950 in London, United Kingdom ) is Bishop of Auckland.

Life

Patrick James Dunn received on 24 April 1976 the Bishop of Auckland, John Mackey, the sacrament of Holy Orders. He was personal assistant of Mackey's successor Denis Browne 1992.

On 10 June 1994 by Pope John Paul II appointed titular bishop of fessée and ordered him to Bishop Auckland. The Bishop of Auckland, Denis Browne, donated to him on July 25th of that year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Wellington, Thomas Stafford Cardinal Williams, and the Auxiliary Bishop of Auckland, John Hubert Macey Rodgers SM. On 19 December 1994 John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Auckland. The inauguration took place on 29 March 1995. He is secretary of the New Zealand Catholic Bishops' Conference.
