Patrick Hernandez

Patrick Hernandez ( born April 6, 1949 in Le Blanc -Mesnil ) is a French singer.

Career

Patrick Hernandez was discovered by Hervé Tholance. In 1979 he had his greatest success with the song Born to Be Alive. The single occupied the top position several international charts, including five weeks ( from May 12 to June 9 ) in Germany, and was one of the most successful hits of the year. However, this fast-paced " Disco Stomp " title remained his only substantial hit. Even the follow-up single Back to Boogie, which he had sung together with Hervé Tholance, only was able to record smooth finishes. Other publications came to commercial failures.

His published in the summer of 1979 debut album Born to Be Alive has had little success; only in Scandinavia it could achieve good rankings (including number one in Sweden).

A 1988 published remix of Born to Be Alive reached number 20 in the Netherlands. A bigger comeback, however, so he failed.

Others

Patrick Hernandez always occurs with a walking stick, which has become his trademark.

During a stay in New York in 1979, he was casting along with his producer Jean van Loo dancers for his world tour, which included the then-unknown twenty year old singer Madonna.

Today Patrick Hernandez lives in L' Isle- sur -la -Sorgue, near Avignon in the Vaucluse.
