Patrick William Riordan

Patrick William Riordan ( born August 27, 1841 in Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada, † December 27, 1914 ) was Archbishop of San Francisco.

Life

Patrick William Riordan received on 10 June 1865, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On July 17, 1883, he was named Pope Leo XIII. Titular Archbishop of Cabasa and ordered him to Koadjutorerzbischof of San Francisco. The Archbishop of Chicago, Patrick Augustine Feehan, donated to him on 16 September of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Louisville, William George McCloskey, and the Bishop of Vincennes, Francis Silas Marean Chatard. On 21 December 1884, Patrick William Riordan in succession of Joseph Sadoc Alemany y resigned Conill OP as Archbishop of San Francisco.
