Patrick Feehan

Patrick Augustine Feehan ( born August 28, 1829 in Killenaule, County Tipperary, Ireland; † July 12, 1902 in Chicago) was Archbishop of Chicago.

Life

Patrick Augustine Feehan received on November 1, 1852 Sacrament of Holy Orders.

On July 7, 1865, he was named by Pope Pius IX. Bishop of Nashville. The Archbishop of Saint Louis, Peter Richard Kenrick, donated to him on 12 November of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Vicar Apostolic of the Eastern Indian territories of the Rocky Mountains, John Baptiste Miege, SJ, and the Bishop of Alton, Henry Damian Juncker.

On September 10, 1880, he was named Pope Leo XIII. Archbishop of Chicago.
