Paul Carrack

Paul Carrack ( born April 22, 1951 in Sheffield, England ) is a British songwriter, singer, keyboardist and guitarist, and was a member of Mike & the Mechanics.

Life

Carrack founded 1970, the psychedelic rock band Warm Dust. Two years later he joined Ace and was author and singer of her biggest hits How Long. After the band broke up in 1977, Carrack began together with the country musician Frankie Miller to work. Between 1980 and 1981, Carrack recorded his first album. In addition, he was involved as a studio musician on two recordings of Roxy Music. In the short term, he was a substitute for Jools Holland member of Squeeze.

1985 Carrack was hired by Mike Rutherford as a singer for his band Mike and the Mechanics, which managed the following year, her musical breakthrough among other things, with the singles Silent Running ( On Dangerous Ground ) and All I Need Is A Miracle, which in itself the Top Ten of the Billboard Hot 100 could place. Carrack also continued to work as a studio musician. He was involved as a keyboard player at Elton John's albums Made in England and The Big Picture, as well as to the title Something About The Way You Look Tonight, which on the back of the biggest selling single of all time, Candle In The Wind '97, using found.
