Paul Heidemann

Paul Heidemann (* October 26, 1884 in Cologne, † June 20, 1968 in Berlin) was a German actor, film director and film producer.

Life

After a commercial apprenticeship in the cigar industry, he took acting lessons at the Meiningen court actor Leopold plate. He made ​​his debut in 1906 in Hanau Hereditary Prince Karl- Heinz in the operetta Old Heidelberg.

In 1909 he came to the theater of Breslau, where he sang in Bruno Granichstaedtens operetta " boy or girl ". Heidemann here gained a reputation as a gifted comedian and was brought up on the recommendation of the composer Jean Gilbert in 1911 to Berlin. There he made ​​his debut in Gilbert's play The chaste Susanne.

Franz Porten discovered him for the film, where he worked in the stigma of their past played his first leading role in 1912. From 1913 to 1915 he acted as comic title character "Teddy" in a comedy series. Another comedy series shows ihne also a comic role, in this he is called " Pauly ", there is an early crossover in which Heidemann both Teddy and Paul in a double role in the film Paul, and Teddy. During the Second World War Heidemann worked again also as a film director and directed some comedy substances. In the 50s he took over again both roles in several West German productions as well as in several films of DEFA.
