Paul Mauriat

Paul Mauriat ( born March 4, 1925 in Marseille, † November 3, 2006 in Perpignan ) was a French orchestra leader and composer.

Career

The foundation of his career, he laid 17 years by starting their own orchestra in Paris, with whom he played during the Second World War in France. In 1950 he began making records with Charles Aznavour and touring. His music is a classic big band sound and to write more "light music ". His most famous piece is the number-one hit in the U.S. in 1968 L' amour est bleu ( Love Is Blue ), composed by André Popp for Vicky Leandros, with the text by Pierre Cour the Euro Vision Song Contest 1967 in Vienna for this item Luxembourg had presented.
