Paul Naschy

Paul Naschy ( born September 6, 1934 in Madrid, † November 30, 2009 ibid; actually Jacinto Molina Álvarez ) was a Spanish actor, screenwriter and film director.

Life

Growing up in the Franco regime of the postwar years, Naschy studied at the request of his family first agriculture and later architecture, with him, were his drawing skills, he developed an early of great benefit. It also meant that he designed for record companies such as Decca or Columbia covers, including Elvis Presley recordings have taken. Incidentally drew Naschy comics and wrote under the pseudonym Jack Mills dime novels.

A compensation he found in these years in sports; he was a boxer, footballer and finally weightlifter - 1958 he was Spanish champion at lightweight.

Career

His early pronounced love of cinema prevailed from the early 1960s. He took on small roles, was a location scout and production as well as assistant director until 1967 he his first major role was played and a year later with his first horror film, the role of his life found: that of the werewolf Waldemar Daninsky, which he embodied in many films. In addition, he also played other classic horror roles like Count Dracula or Frankenstein's monster, but also in many crime films.

In 1976, he moved over on the director's chair, where he made his next game documentaries. In the early 1990s it has been quiet around Naschy until he was (among other things with the presentation of the Spanish Gold Medal of Fine Arts) in a number of recent projects can be seen at the beginning of the new millennium. So Naschy starred in nearly 90 films, but is best known for his films from the period from the 1960s to the 1980s.

Paul Naschy is the only actor who has shown all the classic horror characters: Dracula, Frankenstein's monster, the Mummy, Fu Man Chu, Mr. Hyde, Quasimodo, the Phantom of the Opera, the Wolf Man and Satan. He lived most recently in his home city of Madrid, where he died on November 30, 2009. Naschy was suffering from pancreatic cancer.
