Paul Schuitema

Geert Paul Hendrikus Schuitema ( born February 27, 1897 in Groningen, † 25 October 1973, Wassenaar ) was a Dutch graphic designer. He also designed furniture, planned exhibitions and worked as a photographer, film director, painter. Between 1932 and 1962 he was a lecturer in advertising design and photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague.

Schuitema who in the 1920s and 1930s with Piet Zwart and Gerard Kiljan in the Netherlands of the pioneers of the New Typography, and new photography and is considered one of the Dutch representative of modernity.

In 1964, his works at the documenta III in Kassel in the Department graphics were shown.
