Paula Strasberg

Paula Strasberg (* 1909 in New York Paula Miller, † April 29, 1966 ibid ) was an American drama teacher and actress.

Life and career

Paula Miller was born a Jew in New York. Between 1928 and 1948 she appeared in over twenty Broadway plays, which made ​​her a successful actress. In 1934 she married the acting teacher Lee Strasberg, who is considered the founder of the method actings. He founded the Actors Studio, where also taught his wife. She was, for example, the acting coach of Marilyn Monroe, whom she accompanied on filming until her death in 1962, such as in the fall of 1958 in Some Like It Hot.
