Paula Teixeira da Cruz
Maria Paula Teixeira da Cruz of Hafe ( born June 1, 1960 in Luanda, Portuguese West Africa, today Angola) is a Portuguese lawyer and politician. Since June 21, 2011, she has held the office of Minister of Justice in the Cabinet Passos Coelho.
Life
Teixeira Cruz (now Angola) was born on 1 June 1960 in the former Portuguese overseas province of Portuguese West Africa. In 1975, she fled with her parents from the province of laid-off in the independence back to Lisbon. There she began her law degree in 1983 at the Free University of Lisbon. By 1987, she taught at the university, and at the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon in the field of administrative law. In the same area, they also taught at the University of finances 1991 until 1992.
Career
Opened in 1992, Teixeira da Cruz her own law firm in the Lisbon Rua Garrett. In 1996, she went into the law firm F. Castelo Branco & Associados, where she coordinated the area for public, administrative and environmental law. Party Political career
Since 1995, Paula Teixeira da Cruz is a member of the Portuguese Social Democrats ( PSD). In her home she was Lisbon between 1998 and 2002 a member of the Socialist Group in the City Council, 2005-2009 President of the City Assembly of Lisbon ( Assembleia Municipal). 1997/1998 she was on the board ( Política Nacional Commissão ) of the PSD, as well as 2005/2006 under Luís Marques Mendes. Since 2010 she is deputy chairman Pedro Passos Coelho, the PSD.
On 17 June 2011, the previously victorious in the general election Pedro Passos Coelho Paula Teixeira da Cruz struck before as one of four social democratic ministers of his cabinet. President Cavaco Silva appointed her then on June 21, 2011 Minister of Justice.
Private
Paula Teixeira da Cruz has been divorced since 2008 from her husband Paulo Teixeira Pinto, whom she had married in 1984. From this marriage two children were born, one died already.
