Miguel Relvas

Miguel Fernando Cassola de Miranda Relvas ( born September 5, 1961 in Lisbon, Portugal) is a Portuguese politician (PSD) and since June 21, 2011 Minister for Parliamentary Affairs in the Cabinet Passos Coelho.

Youth

Miguel Relvas was born on 5 September 1961 in Lisbon, but lived with his family until 1974 in the former overseas province of Portuguese West Africa, now known as Angola. His two brothers (* 1963 and * 1966 ) were born in Luanda. After the Carnation Revolution in 1974, the family returned to Lisbon, Relvas attended school in Tomar.

Academic career

Relvas wrote in 1984 for the study of law at the Free University of Lisbon, a private, broke it after one year already and subsequently joined to the study of history, which, however, he also broke after a year.

Political career

Miguel Relvas came early to the Portuguese Social Democrats from 1987 to 1989 he was Chairman of the Social Democratic youth organization Juventude Social Democrata.

In the parliamentary elections in 1985, he won a mandate for the first time in the Assembleia da República in the constituency Santarém ( IV legislature ).
