Pauline McNeill

Pauline McNeill ( born September 12, 1962) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labour Party.

McNeill attended Our Lady's High School in Cumbernauld and Glasgow College of Building and Printing, where she earned degrees in Print Design and Graphic Design. Then she went to the University of Strathclyde and graduated from the Department of Jura. In the years 1986-1988 was McNeill chairman of the national student union and then to 1999, Regional Head of GMB union.

Scottish Parliament

In the Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 McNeill candidate for the constituency of Glasgow Kelvin and won the mandate well ahead of the SNP candidate Sandra White. As a result, they moved into the newly created Scottish Parliament. In the parliamentary elections in 2003 and parliamentary elections in 2007 McNeill defended its mandate in each case against White. A change finally occurred to the 2011 parliamentary elections and McNeill defeated despite vocal profits for the first time Sandra White and thus lost her parliamentary seat.

In the shadow cabinet of the Labour Party from 2011 McNeill is provided as the Minister for Culture and for the Constitution.
