Paulo Futre

Jorge Paulo dos Santos Futre ( born February 28, 1966 in Montijo, Portugal ) is a former Portuguese football player. He is commonly known as Futre. The dribbling strong striker was at numerous international associations under contract.

Futre comes from the youth of Sporting Lisbon and in 1983 was awarded his first professional contract there also. In 1984 he moved to FC Porto and won with the club in addition to numerous national titles in 1987 the European Cup of Champions. In the following season moved Futre for a high transfer fee to Atlético Madrid. After further international engagement at Benfica, Olympique Marseille, AC Reggiana, AC Milan, West Ham United and the Yokohama Marinos he ended his active career in 1999. Since then, he worked as technical director at Atletico Madrid.

Futre played 1983-1995 a total of 41 times for the Portuguese national football team, scoring six goals.
