Pavel Bořkovec

Pavel Bořkovec ( born June 10, 1884 in Prague, † July 22, 1972 ) was a Czech composer.

Bořkovec studied at the Prague Conservatory with Josef Suk. From 1946 to 1967 he taught at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Among his students were Pavel Blatný, Jiří Pauer, Vladimir summer, Petr Eben Jan Klusak and Jan Truhlar. He composed among other works, two operas, two piano concertos, a concerto grosso, a ballet and five string quartets.
