Peavey Electronics Corporation is one of the largest manufacturers of audio equipment, headquartered in Meridian (Mississippi).

History

Hartley Peavey founded Peavey Electronics in 1965 after he had built his first amplifier in 1957. Since its founding Peavey Electronics is privately owned.

The company operates a museum, will be exhibited publicly in the memorabilia related to Peavey.

Currently Peavey has over 140 000 m² of production and manufacturing area in more than 33 factories in North America, Europe and Asia. 18 of which are located in the home state of Mississippi.

The main production takes place in the United States, Britain and the Far East and is distributed from there in 136 countries. The company Peavey has also filed over 130 patents and offers a range of over 2000 products, which is extended every year by 80 to 100 products.

5150/6505 amplifier

This series was the result of a collaboration between Peavey and Eddie Van Halen. Originally planned as a special amplifier for Eddie Van Halen gained amplifier series massive popularity especially in rock and metal scene. Wolfgang electric guitar

From Peavey built signature model for Eddie Van Halen, which he has named after his son. Van Halen came in 1995, according to a previously very successful cooperation with the guitar manufacturer Ernie Ball / Music Man to Peavey to produce with the aim of his ideal guitar. The signature model Peavey Wolfgang was relatively successful, but remained in terms of sales figures significantly behind Van Halen's previous Signature guitars. The end of 2004 ended Peavey and Van Halen their cooperation and the Wolfgang series was discontinued. Since then, this guitar model is available in a slightly modified form as Peavey HP Special Series.
