Giant (Band)

Giant is an American hard rock band in the late 1980s and published the early 1990s with the albums Last of the Runaways and Time to Burn two genre classics. These two albums are the most important releases of the AOR (formerly mainstream rock) counted.

Musicians in the band are the former White Heart- musician Dann Huff (vocals and guitar) and his brother David Huff (drums), as well as the American studio musician Mike Brignardello (bass) and Alan Pasqua (keyboards).

History

After the first two studio albums, the band broke up, because it due to the rise of grunge sounds of classic mainstream bands became more and more difficult to pass. 2000 the band came together again to record a third studio album ( Giant III) in the band's typical AOR style.

Dann Huff has long been a sought after and successful studio guitarist as well as a music producer. Especially in the country music scene in Nashville, he is regarded as first-class music producer. His clients include, among others, top acts such as Keith Urban, She Daisy, Kenny Rogers, Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill, Jewel, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, etc.

Another reunion of the band took place in 2009, but only partially with Dann Huff, which occurs on the album Promise Land as a studio guitarist, but not as a fixed band musicians in the group. Then looked around because of other commitments in time unable to re- assume the role of guitarist and singer. The two remaining musicians David L. Huff and Mike Brignardello hired subsequently to the former Strangeways singer Terry Brock and guitarist John Roth ( uaWinger ). 2010 was the release of the fourth studio album Promise Land.

Style

The music style can be attributed to the traditional American arena rock ( AOR) and moves between Foreigner, Whitesnake, Van Halen and Tyketto. A key feature is the guitar playing of Dann Huff, who is considered one of the best rock and studio guitarists of all time.
