The Bayan Lepas International Airport, also known as Penang International Airport, is the international airport of the island of Penang, which is a major attraction for tourists in Malaysia. The airport is located on the southeastern edge of the island and is equipped with an intercontinental start and runway of 3.5 km length.
In addition to the passenger airlines also control several international cargo airlines, including the German Lufthansa Cargo, the Penang Airport.
Up to twelve aircraft can be parked on the main apron at the same time. The modern terminal building consists of a central building body for the settlement of check-in and baggage claim and an upstream pier building, which is equipped with eight passenger boarding bridges.
The former short runway was converted and extended in the last expansion of the airport to a taxiway for the newly built runway.
