Penny Jamieson

Penelope " Penny " Ann Bansall Jamieson, DCNZM ( born June 21, 1942 in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire, England) is an Anglican bishop of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.

Life

After her schooling Jamieson studied linguistics at the University of Edinburgh in the UK. Then she moved to New Zealand where she worked in Wellington in the inner-city mission. At the Victoria University of Wellington, she studied Anglican theology., Where her the doctor succeeded in theology. 1983 Jamieson was ordained Anglican priest. From 1990 to 2004 Jamieson was Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Dunedin in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. After the Bishop Barbara Clementine Harris Jamieson was the second woman as bishop in the Anglican Church world. Followed in 2008 as the Anglican Bishop Victoria Matthews in New Zealand in the Diocese of Christchurch in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.

Jamieson is married to the teacher in January Jamieson; her husband is from New Zealand.
