The Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand & Polynesia is a member church of the Anglican Communion and counts 584 793 members in 552 parishes, which are managed by 822 clerics. At the top of their nine dioceses is as Primate, the Archbishop of New Zealand.

After 1970, the remarriage had been approved, it came in 1977 to the first ordination of a woman and 1990 for the consecration of the first diocesan bishop of the Anglican Communion.
