Per Lindberg

Per Lindberg ( born March 5, 1890 in Stockholm, † February 7, 1944 ) was a Swedish theater and film director.

Life

Lindberg was considered an innovator of the Swedish theater of the 1920s and 1930s. He headed the theater at Konserthuset and also took advantage of the modern medium of radio to reach its audience. 1923 Lindberg directed his first film Female bachelors, with the Torah Tiye theater actress in the lead role. He was influenced by the style of the Soviet cinema of the 1920s and showed interest in the film expressionism and the documentary. In the June night (1940 ) he brought Ingrid Bergman to one of their finest performances.
