Per Røntved

Per Røntved ( born January 27, 1949 in Frederiksberg) is a former Danish international footballer.

With 75 international matches Røntved was capped player at the end of his career in Denmark, but was later overtaken by Peter Schmeichel. He scored this as a defender eleven goals. In 1972, he was the Danish Player of the Year. His career as a player led him to Brønshøj BK, Werder Bremen, Randers Freja and the United States. In 1979 he wrote the tell-all book " Fodbold på vrangen. "

His career had 1984 35 - year quit after he sustained in a rope jumping competition with his brother a cerebral hemorrhage. After this tragic event by Røntved remained partially paralyzed and moved to the sports management of a number of Danish clubs, even worked as a technical adviser at the Association of Swaziland in southern Africa.
