Peravia Province

Peravia is one of the 31 provinces of the Dominican Republic. In 2002, a part of the province was separated to form a new province with the name of San José de Ocoa.

The Peravia province was founded on November 23, 1944, was first and later called Provincia de Bani José Trujillo Valdez. Its current name Peravia she received on 29 November 1961, after the valley of Peravia, where the provincial capital is located.

Location

Peravia located in the south on the Caribbean coast about 1 hour drive west of the capital Santo Domingo. The provincial capital is Bani. In the east Peravia borders the province of San Cristóbal, in the north of San José de Ocoa and to the west of Azua. Just behind the coast, the landscape is hilly and then goes up to 1700 m high mountains beyond.

Tourism

Tourist Peravia is still unexplored. Only in recent years begins a small country and its people little affecting tourism. The Caribbean coast is in much of a pebble - sand beach that has not been attracting the onslaught of foreign tourists. But there are beautiful sandy beaches and opportunities for activities below and above water.

Economy
