Percival Davson

Percival Davson May ( born September 30, 1877 in Georgetown, British Guiana, † December 5, 1959 in London) was a British tennis player and fencer.

Career

Davson, who took part in tournaments in England in 1903, succeeded at the Wimbledon Championships in 1914 and 1922, reaching the quarter-finals his best result. In 1919 he played in the Davis Cup final against France. His first match against André Gobert he lost in four sets. Finally, at a level of 2-2 his last singles match against William Laurentz brought the decision; Davson won in five sets and the UK so that the Davis Cup.

At the Olympic Games in 1908, he took up the epee and won a silver medal with the British team.

He died in 1959 at the age of 82 years in London's Paddington.
