Peter Gustavsson

Peter Gustavsson ( born March 30, 1958 in Bollebygd ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player who has played in its active period from 1977 to 1994, including for the Colorado Rockies in the National Hockey League. His son Mathias Porseland is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Peter Gustavsson began his career as a hockey player in Västra Frölunda, for its first team in 1977, he was first in the Elitserien, the highest Swedish league, active until 1981. In the 1979/80 season he reached there with his team's playoff final, where he lost to Västra Frölunda with in the best- of-five series Brynäs IF with 2:3 victories. On 11 May 1981, the winger signed a contract as a free agent with the Colorado Rockies, where he where he remained point and impunity in the season 1981/82 in two games in the National Hockey League was on the ice. He spent the entire rest of the season, however, at their farm team Fort Worth Texans in the Central Hockey League. For the Texans, he scored eight goals in 59 games and gave eleven templates.

In the summer of 1982, Gustavsson returned to his native Sweden, where he received a contract with his former club Västra Frölunda. With this he suffered in the season 1983/84 the descent into second-rate Division 1. Then he stopped the team from Gothenburg faithful and spent five seasons in Division 1, before he reached with his team in 1989 's re-emergence in the Elitserien. For the 1990/91 season the Swede signed a contract with the second division Hanhals HF. He then paused for two years with ice hockey before he ran aground in the season 1993/ 94 for the third division Härryda HC. He then finished his career at the age of 36 years.
