1981–82 NHL season
The NHL 1981/82 season was the 65th season in the National Hockey League. 21 teams each played 80 games. The Stanley Cup won by the New York Islanders after a 4-0 win in the final series against the Vancouver Canucks. New season, new records of Wayne Gretzky. With 212 points he made the first and only player the 200 point mark and this mark should surpass even more times. In the preseason was admired even Mike Bossy scored as the second player after Maurice Richard in NHL history in 50 games and 50 goals. Gretzky met already in his 39th game for the 50th time. His 92 goals were not achieved until today. The Oilers scored 417 hits this season. Except for the Oilers, who should surpass the 400 mark in the next four years, no other team had ever scored 400 goals again. In the playoffs was played first time this season by division separated and the two division winners then met each other in the final.
