1954–55 NHL season
The NHL season in 1954/55 was the 38th season in the National Hockey League. Six teams each played 70 games. The Stanley Cup won by the Detroit Red Wings after a 4-3 victory in the final series against the Montreal Canadiens for the fourth time in six years. It would take 42 years until the Cup the next time went to the Wings. On March 10, the Zamboni made its debut. The Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto was first prepares the ice before the game and in the breaks with such an ice cream maker. The players were, however, not yet accustomed to it. The game ended goalless.
