1959–60 NHL season
The NHL season 1959/60 was the 43rd season in the National Hockey League. Six teams each played 70 games. The Stanley Cup won by the Canadiens after a 4-0 win in the final series against the Toronto Maple Leafs for the fifth time in a row. From 1951 to 1960, Kindergarten Montreal without interruption in the final. One day after Halloween hit New York's Andy Bathgate Montreal goalie Jacques Plante with a shot in the face. Plante returns with a fiberglass mask and stops 29 of 30 shots on goal. This goalkeeping has been revolutionized since it previously was not usual to play with mask.
