1927–28 NHL season
The NHL 1927/28 season was the eleventh season of the National Hockey League. Ten teams each played 44 games. The Stanley Cup won by the New York Rangers with a 3-2 victory over the Montreal Maroons. More than 20 years Lester Patrick had won the Stanley Cup with the Montreal Wanderers as a player and this year he wanted to lead the Rangers to their first title as a manager. This project was in serious danger than in the second finale of New York goalie Lorne Chabot was hit by a shot of Nels Stewart on the eye. Since the Rangers did not have a goalkeeper while the manager himself took over this task, leaving only one of the 18 shots happen. The Rangers won 2-1 and Patrick won unexpectedly as a player once again the Stanley Cup.
