Peter Higgins (athlete)

Peter Higgins ( Francis Peter Higgins, born November 16, 1928 in Stockton -on-Tees, † September 8, 1993 ) was a British sprinter.

In the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1954 in Vancouver, he won the British team gold in the 4 x 440 yards relay.

In 1956 he reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Melbourne over 400 m. In the 4 x 400 meters relay he won the British quartet in the occupation of John Salisbury, Wheeler, Higgins and Derek Johnson, the bronze medal.

In 1957 he was British champion over 440 yards.
