Peter Wuffli

Peter Andreas Wuffli ( born October 26, 1957 in Zurich ) is a Swiss manager.

Life

Wufflis father Heinz was Wuffli 1967-1977 General Director of Credit Suisse. The name derives etymologically Wuffli seen from the professional title of the waffle baker from. Peter Wuffli studied from 1976 Economic and Social Sciences at the University of St. Gallen and graduated in 1980 with a diploma. In 1984 he received his doctorate in business administration. Parallel to his studies, he worked as a freelance journalist for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung in 1978.

In 1984, he joined McKinsey in 1990 and became "partners" ( partners ). In 1994, he was Chief Financial Officer of Swiss Bank Corporation and five years later after the merger with Swiss Bank Corporation Chairman of UBS Asset Management. On 18 December 2001, he was chief executive (CEO) of UBS. On 6 July 2007 he resigned it, because this summer, UBS had to liquidate, who had speculated U.S. mortgage-backed securities worth 150 million francs their own hedge fund " Dillon Read Capital Management".

Wuffli is a director of Partners Group Holding AG, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Zurich Opera House and the Lausanne business school IMD. He is with the Vulgo Ultra Altherr the fraternity AV Mercuria San Gallensis. Until February 2010 he was president of the Friends of the FDP.

Peter Wuffli is married and has three children.
