Petřvald (Karviná District)

Petřvald ( German Peterswald, Polish Pietwałd ) is a city in Okres Karviná in the Czech Republic. It lies on the northeastern outskirts of Ostrava.

Geography

The city on the Petřvaldská stružka found in Moravian - Silesian Ostrava in the pan and belongs to the metropolitan region of Ostrava. Neighboring towns are the Ostrava city in the southwest and parts Bartovice Radvanice and Michálkovice in the West. In the north, Orlová closes and the south are Šumbark and Šenov.

History

The first mention of Peter forest, which belonged to the Duchy of Teschen, comes from the decade list of the bishops of Wroclaw from the year 1305.
