Phaedon Gizikis

Faidon Gizikis (Greek Φαίδων Γκιζίκης Fedon Gizikis also Phaidon Gizikis, born June 16, 1917 † 27 July 1999) was a Greek Army General and Minister of Greece during and after the military dictatorship.

Born in 1917 Faidon Gizikis supported the coup against Georgios Papadopoulos after the uprising in Polytechnio in November 1973. Having been appointed on 25 November 1973 the President of Greece, Constantine Karamanlis, he called back from exile in Paris and asked this on 24 July. , 1974 with the formation of a democratic government. Gizikis was about the end of the dictatorship and until the December 18, 1974 President. His successor was Michail Stasinopoulos.
