Phil Rosen
Philip E. Rosen, mostly Phil Rosen ( born May 8, 1888 in Marienburg, West Prussia Province; † October 22, 1951 in Hollywood, California ) was an American film director, cinematographer, and film producer.
Life
Philip Rosen created more than 140 films as a director. He was one of the founding members of the American Society of Cinematographers. From 1918 to 1921 he was its first president.
In the years 1915-1920 Rosen worked mainly as a cameraman and as such involved in about 30 productions. In 1915 he made his first film, but only in 1920 he turned back to the Director and first directed several short films. He remained until the late 1940s, a busy director. His last work was a result of the series FrontPage Detective in 1951.
In the early 1930s he made several Westerns Ken Maynard.
Married Rose was with the actress and model Joyzelle Joyner.
