Philip Barry

Philip Barry ( born June 18, 1896 in Rochester, New York, † December 3, 1949 in New York City ) was an American playwright.

Although he was primarily known for his comedies about the manners, he also wrote serious dramas. Many of his plays have been adapted between 1930 and 1950 for television. Barry's best-known work is The Philadelphia Story, whose film adaptation was with Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn very popular.
