Philip Hampton

Philip Hampton is a British banker and manager.

Life

Hampton studied at Lincoln College, Oxford. After his studies, he was from 1975, first in the British consulting firm Coopers & Lybrand, which later became PricewaterhouseCoopers emerged, active and worked in London and West Africa. 1980/1981 he studied at Insead. After that, he worked for nine years, the U.S. company Lazard and worked in New York City and Paris. His career also led him then as Finance Director for the British company British Steel ( 1990-1995 ), British Gas ( 1995-1997 ), BG Group ( 1997-2000 ), British Telecom ( 2000-2002 ) and Lloyds TSB ( 2002-2004 ). From 2004 to 2009 he was chairman of the British company J Sainsbury. Since 2009, Hampton leads as chairman of the Scottish Royal Bank of Scotland, where it was 2011/2012 to any dispute regarding bonus payments for senior managers. Hampton lives with his family in East Horsley, Surrey.
