The Philip SW Goldson International Airport ( also: Belize International Airport ) is the airport of the city of Belize City and the main international airport of Belize. It is located about 15 miles from Belize City away in Lady Ville.

History

The airport was established in 1943 with a 5,000 ft ( 1,524 m) long start and runway, a taxiway and a small advance built. 1944, a terminal was built, which was officially opened on 15 January 1945. It is named after the late Belizean politician and editor Philip Stanley Wilberforce Goldson.

Meanwhile, the start and runway to 7,100 ft ( 2,164 m) was extended and enlarged to the apron 57,200 m². It is planned to extend the start and runway, apron and terminal to check in my widebody can. The airport has airport fire and rescue service.
