Philip William August, Count Palatine of Neuburg

Philipp Wilhelm August von der Pfalz (* November 19, 1668 in Neuburg an der Donau, † April 5, 1693 in Empire City, Bohemia ) was a Prince and Count Palatine of Neuburg.

Life

Philipp Wilhelm August was the 13th of 17 children of the Elector Philipp Wilhelm of the Palatinate ( 1615-1690 ) from his second marriage with Elisabeth Amalie ( 1635-1709 ), daughter of the Landgrave George II of Hesse -Darmstadt.

His eldest sister Eleonore Magdalene was married to the Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I in 1676. After he had visited his brother in Breslau and his sister in Vienna, Philipp Wilhelm August 1689 undertook his Grand Tour to Italy.

Philipp Wilhelm August embarked on a secular career and entered the active military service. He died at the age of 24 after he was attacked seven days of a " malignant fever ". In the parish church to the imperial city he was buried. His heart rests in the Hofkirche to Neuburg an der Donau.

Marriage and issue

He married on 29 October 1690 in Raudnitz Anna Maria Franziska ( 1672-1741 ), daughter of Duke Julius Franz of Saxe- Lauenburg. The wedding, which had to be postponed due to the illness and death of Philipp Wilhelm August's father, was " unadorned " completed. From his marriage Philipp Wilhelm August had the following children:
