Philip Wilson (bishop)

Philip Edward Wilson ( born October 2, 1950 in Cessnock, New South Wales, Australia) is Archbishop of Adelaide.

Life

The auxiliary bishop in Sydney, Edward Bede Clancy, ordained him priest on 23 August 1975.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 12 April 1996 as Bishop of Wollongong. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal Edward Bede Clancy, on 10 July of the same year; Were co-consecrators Leo Morris Clarke, Emeritus Bishop of Maitland - Newcastle, and William Edward Murray, Bishop Emeritus of Wollongong.

On 30 November 2000 the Pope appointed him to Koadjutorerzbischof of Adelaide. After the retirement Leonard Faulkner, he followed this on 3 December 2001 by the Office of the Archbishop of Adelaide.

Philip Edward Wilson 's first Grand Prior of the newly formed South-Australia Lieutenancy of the Equestrian Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem.
