Philippe Volter

Philippe Volter ( born March 23, 1959 in Brussels, † April 13, 2005 in Paris) was a Belgian actor.

Philippe Volter 1959 in the Brussels municipality of Uccle, the son of stage actor and director Claude Volter (* 1933, † 2002) and actress Jacqueline Bir ( b. 1934 ) was born. Volter had a brother.

Age of four Philippe Volter had his first theater appearance. Before the camera, he first appeared in 1985, and also later he still frequently theater roles.

Volter worked primarily with French-speaking - together directors - mostly Belgian or French. 1991 and 1993, he starred in films of Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski - The Double Life of Veronique and Three Colours: Blue. In 1995 he had a small cameo appearance in the television series Tatort ( One surefire case ). In the second half of the 1990s played Volter propagated in TV films, but without sacrificing feature film roles.

In November 2003, died Volters father, Claude Volter, who had founded with his wife in Brussels the theater Comédie Claude Volter. In January 2003, Philippe Volter was appointed as his father's successor to the directeur artistique the theater. In 2004 he resigned from the position, which then Michel de Warzee took over.

Volter elected on 13 April 2005 suicide.
