Phillip Bent

Phillip Bent ( born September 16, 1964 in London ) is a British jazz flutist (also Piccolo and keyboard ) of the acid jazz with influences of reggae, funk, soul and hip-hop. He belonged to the group of young black musicians from the environment of the Jazz Warriors, which came in the 1980s in the UK jazz to prominence.

Bent studied 1982 to 1986 at the Weekend Arts College ( WAC) in Interchange in North London and two years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Even with 18 years he worked as a studio musician on the side, for example, Womack & Womack and Ronnie Jordan. Bent was in the 1980s in the GRP All Star Big Band and from 1986 to 1989 at the Jazz Warriors. In addition, in 1987 he founded his own quintet, with whom he toured and played at the Camden Jazz Festival; He also worked with two other Jazz Warriors ( Steve Williams, Courtney Pine ) and 1987 by Art Blakey.

Under its own name in GRP He published in 1993 the album The Pressure and 2007 The Magic of Your Spell Magic Sound.

He uses the electronic bands that he plays a reasonable electronically amplified flute.
