Pierre Bensusan

Pierre Bensusan ( born October 30, 1957 in Oran, Algeria ) is a French guitarist.

The family of Pierre Bensusan moved in 1961 after the end of French colonial rule to Paris. At age seven he began piano lessons. The age of eleven he discovered the guitar itself. He was influenced by the revival of folk music in the United States, England and France.

At 17 he signed his first recording contract. A year later, his debut album " Près de Paris " Grand Prix du Disque won at the Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland. The Los Angeles Times praised him as "one of the world's unique and brilliant veterans in the scene of the acoustic guitar ." The American "Guitar Player Magazine " chose him in 2008 for " Best World Music Guitar Player ".

Bensusans virtuoso style is an elegant blend of jazz, folk and world music.
