Pierre de Larivey

Pierre de Larivey (* July 20, 1541 in Troyes, † February 12, 1619 ) was a French dramatist.

Larivey was born in Troyes, the son of Italian parents and was the most important French playwright of the 16th century. Lariveys comedies were arrangements of Italian originals, and appeared in two parts in 1579 and 1611. A scene from Les Esprits Lariveys work was later taken up by Molière.
