Pierre Gill

Pierre Gill (born 1964 in Montreal, Quebec ) is a Canadian cinematographer and director.

Life and achievements

Pierre Gill lives in Montréal. There he attended the Collège Jean de Brébeuf, where he 1982-1984 won seven awards. He then studied at Concordia University, where he received four other awards 1984-1987. He turned television commercials and movies, which are sometimes for Gill's camera work received awards.

In 1997 he got a Gémeaux Award, the Québec equivalent of the Gemini Award for the miniseries Marguerite Volant. In 2000 he was awarded a Prix Jutra for best cinematography in Unlocked Memories (souvenirs intimate ). He was awarded at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata for the dramatic youth film Lost and Delirious with the ADF Cinematography Award 2001. He was nominated for a Gemini Award for The Last Casino 2005. The American Society of Cinematographers gave him 2004 for the biographical drama film Hitler - The Rise of Evil with an ASC Award. Canadian Society of Cinematographers Awards ( CSC Awards) he received for various films in 2000 (twice ), 2001, 2002 and 2004, and in 2007 the Kodak New Century Award. Genie Awards in 2002 he was able to win for Lost and Delirious and at the award ceremony for the 2007 hockey movie Maurice Richard. He also was nominated for various awards.
