Pierre Mac Orlan

Pierre Dumarchais ( born February 26, 1882 in Peronne, the Somme, . † June 28, 1970 in Saint- Cyr- sur -Morin, Dept. Seine- et- Marne) was a French writer and journalist, the author under the name of Pierre Mac Orlan (also written MacOrlan ) was known.

Biographical

He interrupted his teacher training in Rouen from and lived as a poet in abject poverty in Paris, returned a few years back to Rouen, where he worked as a proofreader. From 1905 to 1908 he vagabundierte by European countries: Belgium, England, Italy, South of France. Then Pierre Dumarchais lived as a bohemian Montmartre in Paris. He befriended now with writers such as Guillaume Apollinaire, Francis Carco, Roland Dorgelès and Max Jacob, and with the painters Maurice Utrillo, Picasso Juan Gris and Georges Braque. In 1913 he married Marguerite Luc. Mac Orlan took part in the First World War and was wounded on May 2, 1918. 1918/1919 as a war correspondent, he traveled through Germany. He retired in 1927 with his wife to Saint- Cyr- sur -Morin, 40 kilometers east of Paris, back. In 1950 the Académie Goncourt him on as a member.

His literary works authored Pierre Dumarchey only in exceptional cases under his real name, he used pseudonyms like CHEVLIER de X ... for his first novel, Georges ( 1908), Miss Sadie Black Eyes, Pierre du Bourdel, Les Abventures amoureuses de Mademoiselle de summer Anges ... (1910 ), Mademoiselle de must Elle et ses amies (1911 ), Sadinet, Petites cousines (1919), or simply Pierre Mac Orlan. He used this name first end of 1905 for book illustrations.
