Piet Schrijvers (1978 )

Pieter " Piet " Schrijvers (born 15 December 1946 in Jutphaas, Netherlands ) is a former Dutch football player.

Career

The goalkeeper Piet Schrijvers began his professional career in 1967 at FC Twente Enschede and moved in 1973 to the current European Cup Winners ' Cup Ajax Amsterdam. Already at Twente he was promoted in 1971 to the Dutch national team and was part of the squad of Rinus Michels Bond Coach for the Football World Cup 1974 in Germany. However, this familiar with this tournament which six years older than January Jongbloed. Only at the European Football Championship 1976 was Schrijvers as a goalkeeper in a tournament between the posts of the Netherlands.

With the Football World Cup 1978 in Argentina, the new Bond coach Ernst Happel moved between Jongbloed and Schrijvers. Schrijvers replaced after the first round Jongbloed, but was injured in the last match of the second round. So he came specifically to his first WRC rounds, but missed the finals again, who lost his team against Argentina with 1:3 after extra time. Jongbloed denied his second final in succession, both of which were lost to the hosts. At the World Championship in Italy in 1980, he was ultimately the undisputed number one in the Dutch failed in the group stage at Germany. Allofs scored three goals against Schrijvers in the 2:3 defeat of his team.

Schrijvers played until 1983 with Ajax Amsterdam and then moved to PEC Zwolle, where he ended his career in 1985. In the national team he played until 1984 and brought it to a total of 46 matches. After his playing career Schrijvers trained initially some amateur clubs and short-term professional clubs such as PSV Eindhoven or the national team of Saudi Arabia. Currently, however, he is not acting as a coach.

In the Netherlands, the 100 kg man Schrijvers as De Beer van de Meer 's ( The Bear from the sea ) is known. Even with his other positions as players in Zwolle or as coach of the brawny blonde goalkeeper received various epithets as Lek van PEC (The leak of PEC) and Bolle van Zwolle ( The Bull of Zwolle )
