Pietari Inkinen

Pietari Inkinen ( born April 29, 1980 in Kouvola, Finland) is a Finnish violinist, conductor and conductor. He studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki; there he laid in 2003 from the exam for violin; in 2005 he acquired the Kapellmeister diploma.

After he had already performed with many international orchestras, he was appointed in 2008 as artistic director of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Since 2009 he has also been guest conductor of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.

Inkinen plays a violin by Carlo Bergonzi in the year 1732.

With the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra played Inkinen Naxos, among others, works by Einojuhani Rautavaara and the Violin Concerto by Johannes Brahms. By 2012, six CDs have been released with works by Jean Sibelius, including all numbered symphonies.
