Pilot (Band)

Pilot was a British pop band, founded in 1973 by the singer, bassist and songwriter David Paton. Bill Lyall had previously played with the still at the time not yet successful Bay City Rollers.

The great age of the band was in 1975. This year they had with "Magic" and the number -one hit " January " their greatest success, not only in the UK. Producer of all plates was Alan Parsons. The group broke up in 1977. Bairnson, Paton and Tosh formed after the musical core of The Alan Parsons Project; However, Stuart Tosh rose soon off again and switched to 10cc, Bairnson and Paton continue to work as a studio musician, including with Kate Bush. Lyall released a solo album and then went to dollars. In December 1989, he died of AIDS.
